Job Title:  Prevention Supervisor

Job Description:      

This is a grant-funded, full-time position that is responsible for 1) managing the re-engagement (Lost to Care) activities of the Consortium by working with DPH partners in locating people living with HIV who are considered “lost-to-care” and reconnecting them with medical/support services; 2) assisting clients in obtaining PrEP for HIV prevention by linking them to available resources; 3) planning and executing a PrEP Conference annually, and 4) prevention education and outreach.

Salary:            $41,000 -43,000 annually

Reports to:    Executive Director


Three year experience in HIV services/human services outreach and education, bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.  Background in public health administration and policy development.  Proficiency in personal computing skills (MS Office).  Time management and ability to work independently strongly desired.  Driver’s license and personal transportation.


Responsibilities with the Prevention Program include, but are not limited to:

  • Re-engagement – The Consortium jointly manages a Re-engagement program with the Division of Public Health out of their Dover office. Using information gathered by DPH Surveillance, the State has identified a list of residents who may have stopped their HIV treatment.  The job is to investigate and to try to establish communications via US mail, electronic media or social media, or by home visit, and to try to reconnect them to medical care.
  • The Prevention Supervisor participates in re-engagement activities, manages a part-time re-engagement specialist, and produces monthly reporting of re-engagement activities
  • PrEP Navigation – The Prevention Supervisor will develop and promote the PrEP Navigation program and will manage a part-time PrEP navigation specialist. The Prevention specialist will provide navigation services one-day per week and will be available as needed to assiat with linking clients to PrEP, all other client requests for navigation will be handled by the Supervisor.  Monthly reports of Navigation activities will be prepared by the Supervisor.
  • PrEP Conference/Summit – the Prevention Supervisor will work with community partners to plan and execute an annual PrEP conference or summit, designed to educate prescribers, case managers/stakeholders/advocates about using PrEP as an HIV prevention tool.
  • The Prevention Supervisor will work with the Communications Director to develop and place advertising and social media placements to promote PrEP and other prevention messages as required by contract.
  • Testing and Linkage to Care – Working with part-time tester to develop outreach/testing opportunities, scheduling and managing the testing function, participating in the testing program as needed, and conduction controls on the test kits (training will be provided). The Prevention supervisor will also manage and maintain the testing supplies and will complete monthly reporting of testing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
